The JUNO Awards
The JUNO Awards – Canada’s Music Awards
March 26 – April 1, 2012
Ottawa is proud to be the host of the 2012 JUNO Awards. This year there are lots of amazing lead-up activities. Canadian music hits the streets, March 30 and 31, with a multi-venue showcase of over 100 local, regional and national acts called JUNOfest. Nightly line-ups will feature three or four acts per venue with established and developing artists sharing the stage. Venues for JUNOfest include The Lounge, Babylon Nightclub and the Rainbow Bistro – and are featuring musical acts such as Hollerado, O Susanna and Jim Cuddy… just to name a few!
Two of Canada’s favourite pastimes – hockey and music – come together for an all-out clash of the titans during JUNO Cup on March 30th. The JUNO Cup is a celebrity hockey game in support of MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS. The game sees former NHL Greats competing with Canadian artists and celebrities for bragging rights on the ice.
One of the most popular events of JUNO Week, JUNO Fan Fare Presented by Virgin Mobile, will take over the St. Laurent Centre Court on Saturday, March 31. Canadian music fans will have the opportunity to meet their favourite artists, including: Alyssa Reid, Anjulie, Classified, Down With Webster, JRDN, Karl Wolf, Mia Martina, Simple Plan, and Victoria Duffield!
Top off your JUNO week with the Red Carpet, beginning at 6:00 pm, Sunday April 1st, and the JUNO awards ceremony beginning at 8:00pm, at the Scotiabank Place.
